This privacy policy explains what information the mobile game Who Dey Rule? (“the game”, “we”, “us”) handles. The short version: the game does not collect any personal data, and nothing you do in the game is sent to us or to anyone else.
1. The short version
- No account, no sign-up, no login.
- We do not collect your name, email, phone number, location, contacts, photos, or any other personal data.
- No analytics, no tracking, and no advertising in the current version.
- The game does not send any data to our servers or to any third-party servers. It works fully offline.
- The only things the game saves are your best run, three settings (music, sound effects and haptics, each on/off) and the player portrait you chose (male or female), and they all stay on your device.
2. What the game stores on your device
To make the game work, it saves a small amount of information locally, in your device’s app storage:
| What | Why | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Your best run (for example, the number of months you survived and the rank you reached) | So the title screen can show your best score | On your device only |
| Music setting (on/off) | To remember whether you want background music | On your device only |
| Sound effects setting (on/off) | To remember whether you want sound effects | On your device only |
| Haptics setting (on/off) | To remember whether you want vibration feedback | On your device only |
| Player portrait (male or female) | To show the portrait you picked for your in-game politician | On your device only |
The portrait choice is just a game setting. It is not a photo of you and isn’t used to identify you. None of this information is linked to your identity, none of it is personal data about you, and none of it is ever sent to us. We cannot see it.
3. What the game does not do
- It does not ask for or use device permissions such as location, camera, microphone, contacts, or photos.
- It does not use analytics or crash-reporting tools.
- It does not show ads or use advertising identifiers.
- It does not track you across other apps or websites.
- It does not sell or share any data, because it does not collect any.
4. Future in-app purchases
The game is free. A future update may offer an optional paid unlock for additional levels (for example, House of Assembly and Governor). If that happens:
- Payment will be handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) through their standard in-app purchase systems.
- We will not receive or store your payment card details, billing address, or store account information. Apple or Google may tell the game only whether the unlock has been purchased so it can open the extra levels.
- Your purchase is governed by Apple’s or Google’s own terms and privacy policies:
- Apple: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- Google: https://policies.google.com/privacy
5. Changes to this policy
If we ever add analytics, advertising, online features, or anything else that changes how data is handled, we will update this policy before (or at the same time as) that change is released, update the effective date above, and describe the change in the app’s release notes. Where the law requires it, we will ask for your consent first.
6. Children’s privacy
The game is a light political satire for a general audience. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Because the game collects no personal data at all, no personal information about a child is collected or stored by us. If you are a parent or guardian and have questions, contact us at whodeyrule@gmail.com.
7. Deleting your data
Everything the game saves stays on your device. To delete it, uninstall the game (or clear the app’s storage/data in your device settings). This removes your best run, your settings and your portrait choice. There is nothing stored by us to delete.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the EU/UK, the CCPA/CPRA in California, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, or Nigeria’s Data Protection Act), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Because we do not collect or hold any personal data about you, there is normally nothing for us to provide or delete — but you are always welcome to contact us with questions.
9. Security
Because no data leaves your device, the information the game stores is protected by your device’s own security (such as your screen lock and the app sandbox provided by iOS or Android).
